A little bit about us...

We like quests.
We like the challange, the riddles, the code-breaking and of course... beating the clock.
We think quests are fun, and they can also be a great teaching tool*.
We started thinking: what if we could turn our home into a quest game? We have rooms to search, doors to lock, places to hide riddles in, cabinets and closets to search !!!
Then we thought, why not quest at school? this could also be fun and even educational... so we started to work on creating quests for classrooms too...
This is how MindZap came to life - the desire to quest anywhere (home/school/office).

*We're also into e-learning, specifically non-traditional methods of learning.

Play the game

Got a question?
Here`s some useful info

For now, games are free. You can download them, print, setup and play with no charge...
You can play as many times as you want, since you`ve already downloaded the game.
Since it`s free, you can share the link to our website with all of your friends !!!
Once we finish generating the quest file, we need to send you a link so you could download the game PDF file.
The PDF file holds the pages you need to print, and we`re keeping them in a print quality resolution, so the file itsef is pretty big (This is why we`re not sending the file by email)
Please make sure you provide a working email address which you can access, otherwise we won't be able to send you the quest files
We promise, we don't spam !!!
If you don't get an email within 5-10 minuets, we suggest you do the following:
  1. Check your SPAM folder - sometimes our emails end up there :-(
  2. If you're using a SPAM detection application, it sometimes puts emails in it's own "SPAM" folder, so make sure to look there as well...
  3. "Refresh" your email inbox.
  4. Click this link i didn`t get my game files.
All the pages in the PDF file you`re downloading are in print quality, to make sure they are readable.
This makes the PDF quite large, but we are working on making it smaller in the future.
If you need the space on your computer, then once you downloaded and printed the game pages, your can delete the PDF.
You can print the PDF on any color printer, laser or inkjet, home printer or office printer
The PDF is designed to be printer on regular A4/Letter paper
If you want, you can bring the PDF to a local printing store and print it there.
The game is designed for 1-4 players, or player groups. This means that almost any amount of players can play, as long as they`re divided into several groups.
The game usually somewhere between 15-45 min, depending on your speed and capabilities...
Well, as long as there are some rooms with doors and objects that you can close, you can play the game...
If you don`t have enough rooms, you can divide one room to several parts, simply by using different sides of the rooms, and pretending each side is "locked" by a lock
Bottom line, use your imagination!!
Game setup is super easy, and usually takes about 10 minuets
When you print the game, the first page is the game setup instructions page.
On the other printer pages, there are the other game parts. Next to each game part, you`ll see a number.
The instruction page will tell you where to put each game part, by its number
Each "lock" can be opern with a code. The code is found byy solving riddles. Riddles are built from several game parts, usuall found in different locations.
Some riddles are built from 2 parts, some from 3 and so on. Each lock has an different image on it, and the same image appears on the game parts, so you`ll know which game parts belong to which lock.
Riddles are usually pretty straight forward to find. you need to find the code hidden in the riddle, it can be colors, shapes or any such combination.
If you get stuck, in the "unlock page" (the one you see when you scan the barcode) you can find hints for the riddle, and even the code itself, it the riddle is too hard.
Try the riddles, use your imagination!!
In the game, some rooms and objects (like closets, boxes etc.) are 'locked' with a lock you printed among the other game parts.
To unlock a lock, you need to enter the right code (a set of numbers, letters, symbols etc.).
Each lock has several visual properties on it:
  1. a picture - this links the lock to the set of clues you need to find in order to open it.
  2. A text line explaining the type and length of the code you need to enter (digits, chars, symbols etc.)
  3. A QR code (the black and white square image with the strange dots inside) - once you scan this code, you'll go to a page where you'll need to enter the code
  4. A web link - the same as the QR code, only in a web link form (in case you don't have a QR scanning option)
To open the lock, either scan the QR code, or type the weblink, and when you arrive to the keypad page, enter the code.
If your code was correct, you'll get a messsage, and you can 'unlock' the lock. If not, try again...
One last thing, at the buttom of the key entering page, there are hints you can use...
You'll need to download an app to your mobile phone to do that. There are many such apps, most of them are free, and you can download whatever application you want from your app market (iphone, android or whatever)
The easiest way to get such app, is to go to your app market (iphone/android), search for "QR code" and find an app you like.
Once you download the app, run it and point your camera to the QR code. (this is called "scanning" the QR code).
In most apps, the app will tell you that the QR code points to a web address, which looks something like this:
"https://mindzap.me/s/[bunch of numbers and letters]" - if the address you see looks like that, then it`s ok!
Now you have to go to this link by clicking it, clicking "open" in your app (this really depends on the app itself)
